Recycling Mannequins

Every year in the United Kingdom over 30 million tonnes of rubbish goes into landfill. At Mannakin we are proud to say that not one of our mannequins makes it to any landfill site.

Why? Mannequins are predominantly made from fibre glass and this material does not bio-degrade. Although often crushed and used in the construction industry a mannequin can be seen as a work of art, we have found a demand for these products to be re-used and recycled.

We take full responsibility for the life time of our products and offer a return and recycle scheme to avoid costly landfill charges on the items that we sell. On most of our products which are for hire, we are also taking full responsibility for them to be looking good, fit for purpose and available to use when you need them.

Whilst the majority of our hire packages are for 7 days or 1 month, we are now promoting longer term hire as a valuable hire option.

Recycling mannequins is a task that we take very seriously and we have to date recycled several tonnes of broken and damaged mannequins. We fix, renovate and make good then hire them for all sorts of creative productions. To view our full catalogue click here.

Just A Little Test

Just giving CM an overhaul and seeing if this appears on Facebook. Hopefully it will. What about a nice picture of our Director caught unaware whilst getting on Fred – does that appear also?

Our New Friend Aiden

We were particularly thrilled last night by Aiden Grimshaws beautiful and inspired version of  Michael Jackson’s Thriller.  He sang it carefully and with a real haunting atmosphere. Having contributed to the set to complete the ambience was ten of our faceless white mannequins, who along with around ten dancers – all dressed similar completed the set to create an amazing visual. This is a classic example of how mannequins can be used in the production arena in a breath taking way.

We really liked Simon Cowell’s comments:

‘It was bizarre. The whole routine, you with 25 dummies on stage. I know what it’s like working with dummies.’
